Bro Richard Harward has been elected as Supreme Knight of the Knights of the Southern Cross, New Zealand.

I am pleased to announce the results of the recent elections as follows:
Elected as President of the Alliance for the Term 2013 to 2015- Brother David Huppatz.
Brother David is currently the Deputy President of the Alliance and a Past Supreme Knight of the Knights of the Southern Cross, Australia.
Elected as Deputy President of the Alliance for the Term 2013 to 2015 – Brother F. DeKarlos Blackmon.

All of us in the fraternal family of knights throughout the world owe a great debt of gratitude to Fr. McGivney because without his vision and strength of purpose none of the Orders in the Alliance would exist today. When he founded the Knights of Columbus in 1881 I am sure not even he was aware of the future international impact of his actions. Any new or existing Order seeking to join the International Alliance of Catholic Knights must show by its constitution and activities that it operates in conformity with the ethos and aspirations of Father McGivney. In 2008 Father McGivney was declared Venerable. The Cause for his Beatification is in progress.

It is with deep regret that I report the death of Bishop Michael Coleman.
Bishop Michael was International Chaplain to the Alliance for the Term 2005 to 2007. He attended the International Council meeting in Nigeria in 2007 and endeared himself to all.

I am pleased to announce that Brother Billy Lee has been appointed Assistant Secretary for Pro-Life Affairs. He takes over from Brother Tony Carvahlo whom we thank for his services.

The Vatican has announced that Blessed Mary MacKillop is to be raised to Sainthood. It is great news for all Australian Catholics as she will be their first saint. The news is of particular interest and excitement to the Knights of the Southern Cross, Australia, as she is the Patroness of their Order. They have joined with the Sisters of St. Joseph over the past years to pray for her canonization.

Pope Benedict XV1 has declared Venerable the founder of the Knights of Columbus, Father Michel J. McGivney. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Supreme Knight Anderson and all members of the Knights of Columbus on this joyful news.
Prospective Alliance President Niall Kennedy has now returned home after a short stay in Hospital for a minor operation. Please give him the benefit of your prayers for a complete and speedy return to full health.
Brothers are also requested to continue their prayers for Miss Theodora Bai, daughter of one of our brothers of the Knights of Saint
