My Dear Worthy Brothers,
Jesu Joy of Man’s Desiring, by Johann Sebastian Bach, is a fairly popular musical work used in churches around the world during the season of Christmas. This is due to the lyrics of the choral piece.
Jesu, joy of Man’s desiring, holy wisdom, love most bright, drawn by you, our soul’s aspiring, soar to uncreated light.
Word of God, our flesh that fashioned, with the fire of life impassioned, striving still to truth unknown, soaring, dying ‘round your throne (Bach).

Brothers in the Lord,
I wish to join with the International Chaplain and President in wishing each one of you and your families the Peace and Joy of Christmas. We rejoice in the birth of our Saviour who gives us hope and the courage to continue to our work as knights.
Pat joins with me in wishing you a very Happy Christmas.

At this time of Christmas, like the Magi and the Shepherds we desire an encounter with Jesus Christ, who is the ‘Face of the Father’s Mercy’ as Pope Francis has reminded us. As we reflect upon and celebrate the birth of the Lord during this Year of Mercy, let us seek to be forever changed by the love and mercy that the Father offers to us in the child born at Bethlehem, and then share His love and mercy
